APT’s management team has overall responsibility for implementing the strategic plan of the centre and ensuring its success. The management team reports to the vice president of research, development and innovation at AIT, the industrial steering committee and funding agencies.
APT’s Industrial Steering Team meets quarterly with the role of reviewing the research output from APT and providing strategic input to the management team regarding research focus areas.
APT Management Team
APT’s management team comprises:
- Centre Manager – Dr. Noel Gately
- Academic Directors– Dr. Declan Devine, Dr. Luke Geever, Dr Seán Lyons
The Centre Manager has overall responsibility to ensure the success of APT. The Centre Manager has to ensure that the strategic plan for APT is implemented and has responsibility for overall budgeting. In addition the Director has all operational responsibilities, including personnel, health and safety, financial management, APT operational issues, intellectual property management (via co-ordination with AIT’s Technology Transfer Office), and managing relationships with funding agencies, industrial partners and internally within AIT.
Industrial Steering Team
To ensure the relevance of the centre to the needs of industry, APT reports to an industry-led steering committee comprising of senior figures from the polymer industry in Ireland. The committee meets quarterly and consists of key representatives from the following companies & agencies:
